The Story of the Stones

July 4th was a wonderful day, we were at my cousins, my parents were down from Wellsboro, even Carrie was there as she prepared for her and Austin to head out west the next week.

On Friday we enjoyed the boys baseball game and early Saturday morning is when the story really starts!

It was early and Dave was getting ready for a bike ride. As the pain began and some throw up later he took me to the hospital.  After some really good drugs and some test they found, not one, but three kidney stones.

I often wish that kidney stones we more like the sand in oysters.  The sand inside painlessly grinds away and a beautiful pearl is born.  There is nothing beautiful about kidney stones!

After passing two stones, hospitalization, eventually surgery and two stents the story is over.

I am glad to be on the mend and looking forward to soccer and hockey games!

Mother's Day

I am a very lucky mother! At the Mokrejs' home every day is Mothers Day! My boys help with dinner and clean up (not always willingly, but it always gets done), they make a mean breakfast, do some killer vacuuming and dusting. Laundry is their favorite thing, LOL, but they do bless me every day.  I am not sure why God chose to afflict me, but I do know that my boys are the ones getting the benefit. God is raising them up and whoever is lucky enough to marry them will get a great husband!

So what does Mother's Day look like around here? It really looks like every other day with some hilarious cards to make me laugh :)

I pray that my boys will love life, make mistakes and learn from them, laugh a lot, love their mom and above all else love their God!

Mornings

The boys were up early the other morning. I laid in bed and enjoyed these sounds:

Cereal falling from the box, the sound as the flakes hit the bowl seem louder as they disrupt the quiet morning. The milk splashes on top of the cereal like waves in the ocean. Finding a spoon they loudly rumble in the silverware drawer. It becomes fairly quiet again as they eat.

The sounds of birds in the trees and the rustling of squirrels outside my window remind me that spring is here. As Psalm 16 reminds us "You are my Lord, apart from You I have no good thing." These good things include the elevated sounds that I begin to hear!

The shower runs, but not for long as I hear " out of the shower, it's my turn", " did you pack your lunch", " have you seen my sneakers."  My boys are sports nuts so of course ESPN is on in the background!

Again my thoughts go to Psalm 16 " My portion and my cup is full."

Yes I love these boys, I love busy mornings, and I thank you Lord for filling my cup!

Life is good, God gives life, may we enjoy his goodness!

I Have no idea what you are saying Mom

I was trying to communicate to my son that he needed to call someone for me. His response was that he had no idea what I was saying.

Because of this "malfunction" that I have, I often loose the ability to speak clearly. This being the case, it was hard for my son to understand me.

I had to laugh because that seems to be all my boys excuse. They don't understand me....that is their excuse for not doing things.

Well I am sure we all have the same story "I didn't hear you" or "I didn't understand wat you wanted"

We can just smile before we say it again, and sometimes again! Just love being a mom.

Life is Good, God gives life, may we enjoy his goodness!

The Life of my boys

Well it's spring break and my boys are taking full advantage of it! Here are just some of the things they have done in the last 2 days:

Slept over at a friends
Rode dirt bikes
Had motorcycle inspected then rode to a friends
A group sleep over (I don't know why they call it a sleep over-he is sleeping now)
Climbing trees
Put a radiator and water pump in a friends car
Walked to the deli in Elverson for lunch and then to Walmart
Burned and cleared the grasses around pool
Hit some golf balls with a friend
Worked with a friend
Track practice

Now I do have 3 boys but they were pretty busy!  I really have not seen much of them, except to grab some food. I am sure that some of you can relate! I do love to see them busy. Tomorrow daddy is off work and we have church service. I think that we will try to do something all together! We are so blessed and we always have fun!

Now it's time to finish cleaning the bathtub (that is comical) and then dinner.

Life is good, God gives life, may we all enjoy his goodness!

A boys truthfulness

Yesterday my oldest son let me know that I should do something with my time during the day. Because of my disability I am often forced to sit or lye around until an episode passes, this could be several minutes or several hours. Either way I do spend a majority if my day "down."

My son's idea was for me to start investing or playing the market. When I suggested that we use his travel hockey dollars as an investment; well you can only imagine how that went over!

My son is correct that I often have time on my hands during the day but playing the market does not interest me.  I have done some posting in he past that focused on my disability but after a time it was just all about me. Now don't get me wrong, I do have some funny challenges and I will share some of them along the way.

We all have stories, some funny and some sad. I trust that you can relate to these stories and share some of your own.

Well the house is quiet right now, one son is at track practice, one is at work and one is doing some spring snowboarding with a friend. My hubby is working nights this week, dinner is in the crockpot (left-overs from last night) and soon a dear friend will pick me up and we will go to Bible study together.

Life is good, God gave us life and may we enjoy His goodness.
